The Salonica View team is organizing a 5-day excursion to Vitina. Live the ultimate experience in the beautiful mountainous areas of Arcadia, enjoying rafting, hiking, and visits to the historical and natural attractions of Greece.
Day 1, Athens – Vitina
Departure from Athens. After arriving at the airport, we will board the bus and head to Vitina. Along the way, we will make stops at points of interest, such as Corinth and Tripoli, to enjoy local flavors and beautiful landscapes. Then, after boarding the bus again, we will depart for our final destination, the Vitina House Hotel (https://www.vitinahouse.gr/). After settling into the hotel and rooms, we will have free time to relax.
Day 2, Rafting on the Lousios River
After having our rich breakfast at the hotel and filling up with energy, it’s time for action! We will go to the Trekking Hellas base in Arcadia for rafting on the famous Lousios River. We will follow a route with magnificent landscapes and waterfalls, suitable even for beginners. After the activity, we will enjoy lunch at a local tavern in the area, and in the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel for rest.
Activity Description - Rafting on the Lousios River
The route begins with a brief safety briefing from specialized guides and equipment provided. Then, we board the inflatable boats to cross the crystal clear waters of the Lousios, considered “the river of the gods”. As we proceed, the adventure continues to Alfeios, where the river becomes wider, offering ideal conditions for rafting. The natural landscape is enchanting, with waterfalls, dense vegetation, and imposing rocks accompanying us throughout the route.
Activity duration: 4 hours (including instructions, equipment, and rafting).
Difficulty level: Moderate (open to beginners and advanced).
Location: The activity takes place in the lush gorge of the Lousios River, which ends in the Alfeios River, one of the most historic rivers of the Peloponnese.
Day 3, Elati – Vitina Hiking
After breakfast, we will be transferred to the picturesque village of Elati. From there we will start hiking through lush green paths, with the final destination being Vitina. The route offers unique views of the mountainous areas of Arcadia and is suitable for everyone. In the afternoon, free time to relax or tour Vitina.
Hiking characteristics:
Length of the route: 8.5 km.
Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours.
Difficulty level: Moderate.
Elevation difference: Descent from Elati to the bed of the Mylaon River.
A few words about the route:
The route starts from the village of Elati, descending towards the bed of the Mylaon River. The path passes through dense vegetation and meets the riverside path that crosses a magnificent natural landscape, where we will encounter:
a) The Pyrgaki Springs, which water Vitina.
b) The stone fountain of Makrinos.
The route continues on a 970-meter-long dirt road, reaching the location of Ellinika, near the hill of the ancient acropolis of Methidrio. From there, a short path leads to an asphalt road. From there we will head to an old mule track, rich in natural beauty, with:
a) High riparian vegetation, mainly plane trees.
b) The ruins of three old watermills.
The route ends at the central square of Vitina
Day 4, Visit to Limovitsi and Dimitsana
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the village of Limovitsi, which is connected to the history of Theodoros Kolokotronis. We will visit the house museum of Kolokotronis and then head to Dimitsana. There we will have time for lunch and have time to explore the village before returning to our hotel.
Day 5, Vitina – Athens
After breakfast, we depart from the hotel with the destination of Athens. Along the way, we will make intermediate stops

Accommodation in a single, double, triple room: The cost of the package depends on the period, the choice of room and the number of participants
The price includes:
1) Organization and escort from our office
2) All transfers (all transfers during our excursion)
3) 4 nights accommodation at Vitina House Hotel in double rooms (Low availability in single and triple rooms)
4) Rafting with professional river guides certified by the International Rafting Federation (IRF)
5) All necessary rafting equipment
6) All activities listed in the program (hiking)
The price does not include:
1. Food in taverns, where each participant will pay separately.
