The Salonica View team is organizing a 4-day excursion to Troodos, Cyprus.
Day 1:
Our 4-day excursion begins with the collection of your group from the departure point of your choice upon agreement. Then, we will make a short stop for coffee in the picturesque village of Lefkara, one of the 30 most beautiful villages in Europe, known for its traditional embroidery and unique architecture. In the afternoon, around 19:00-19:30, we will arrive at our hotel in the heart of Troodos, where we will check into our rooms with a welcome drink. In the evening, we will have dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 2:
The next day begins with breakfast at 08:30-09:00. Our first visit is to the Holy Monastery of Holy Mary Trooditissa, one of the most historic and highest monasteries in Cyprus, hidden among huge pine trees and lush green landscapes. After the visit, we depart for a hike on the Kaledonies and Persephone trails, which offer rich natural scenery, waterfalls, old forests, and historical references from the era of English colonialism. The hike lasts approximately 3 hours and is of moderate difficulty. In the afternoon, the group will visit the Lambouri winery in Platres for a wine tasting experience, tasting Cypriot varieties in a place full of character. In the evening, we return to the hotel for rest and dinner.
Day 3:
Day 3 begins with breakfast at 08:30, followed by a visit to the Troodos Geopark Visitor Center, in the old Amiantos mine area. The geopark is an educational and cultural jewel of the region, with geology exhibits, old galleries, and a botanical garden that unfolds the history and geological importance of Troodos. Then, passing through Troodos Square, we will reach the “Doxa soi o Theos” ("Glory to God") trail, 12 km long and lasting approximately 4 hours. The route offers impressive views and contact with nature in all its glory. Later, we depart for Kakopetria, where we will visit a local traditional bakery and taste local pastries. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner at the Kalidonia Rotis restaurant and return to the hotel.
Day 4:
Our last day begins with breakfast at 08:00 and departure at 09:00. On the way to the airport, we will make a short stop in Choirokitia, for coffee and a visit to the local museum (time permitting or as decided on site). The group will return to the original pick-up point.
