The Salonica View team is organizing a hiking trip in the Halevka Forest and to the Armenian Monastery.
About the route
In the morning, we will depart from Nicosia (Cyprus Handicraft Centre) and head towards the Agios Dometios checkpoint. After approximately one hour by bus, we will arrive at the starting point of our hike. Before the hike begins, there will be a short break for rest and relaxation. The hiking route is around 10 km long. The trail is magical, passing through the dense Halevka Forest with stunning views towards both the northern coast of Kyrenia and the southern area of Kythrea. After the hike, we will enjoy a picnic at the Halevka picnic site inside the forest, weather permitting. If time allows, we will also have free time for relaxation at Agios Amvrosios Kyrenia and Alakati Beach before returning to Nicosia through Kyrenia.

- The impressive Armenian Monastery of Saint Makarios (Surp Magar)
- The medieval early Byzantine church ruins, possibly dedicated to Saint George
- Kyrenia Rock – one of the panoramic viewpoints of the Pentadaktylos mountain range, with breathtaking cliffs
