Salonica View Travel Agency invites you to join us for a unique one-day hiking adventure to the highest point of Cyprus, along the beautiful Artemis Trail.
Enjoy breathtaking mountain views, unspoilt nature, fresh air and a memorable day exploring one of the most beautiful trails in the Troodos Mountains.
A few words about our trip
Our trip will begin from Nicosia (Agios Stylianos Church / Strovolos), with additional pick-up stops in Kofinou and Limassol.
We will begin our adventure on the Artemis Trail, approximately 300 metres from the junction connecting Chionistra with the Troodos–Prodromos road.
The trail is a 7 km circular route around the summit of Mount Olympus (Chionistra), at an altitude of approximately 1,850 metres, offering spectacular panoramic views in all directions.
The Artemis Trail runs parallel to the Atalanti Trail, and at certain points the two routes come close to each other.
The route has no significant inclines for most of the hike. Only towards the end, after the Ski Centre, does the trail become slightly uphill for approximately 200–300 metres.
After our beautiful hike, we will head to Chrysanthis Tavern in Kakopetria for lunch. After enjoying our meal and recharging our energy, we will begin our return journey to Nicosia, taking with us wonderful memories and images from our day in nature.
Trail Information
Starting point: 300 m from the junction of the road leading to Chionistra with the Troodos–Prodromos road
Distance: 7 km – circular route
Duration: 2.5–3 hours

Points of Interest
Along the trail, we will explore the black pine forest, rare species of flora and the unique rock formations of the area.
We will have the opportunity to see two ancient black pine trees (Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana), estimated to be approximately 500 years old.
We will also observe the area's rich and rare flora, as well as characteristic rock formations including dunite, harzburgite and pyroxenite.
Throughout the hike, we will enjoy beautiful views towards villages and areas of the Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia districts.
The entire route lies within the Troodos National Forest Park, which is part of the NATURA 2000 network.
Another point of historical interest is “Teishia tis Palias Choras”, the remains of temporary fortifications built during the final year of Venetian rule in Cyprus (1571 AD) by a group of Venetian generals who intended to defend the area against the Ottomans.

Important Notes
Note 1: When making your reservation, please indicate in the message where you would like to board the bus.
Note 2: For the smooth running of the event and for safety reasons, all participants must follow the instructions given by the group leaders.
Note 3: In case the event is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the trip will be rescheduled. Participants who are unable to attend on the new date will receive a refund. If weather conditions once again prevent the event from taking place, the event will be permanently cancelled and all participants will receive a refund.
Note 4: Photos from our activities may be shared on our website and social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to the publication of photographs in which you may appear. If you do not wish to appear in published photographs, please inform us.
Note 5 – Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation less than 72 hours before the event, or in case of a no-show, participants will be required to cover the full participation fee. This policy applies in order to cover operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
Note 6: The group leaders reserve the right to adjust the stops and programme of the excursion according to the available time, without omitting important points of interest.

Important Information About Our Events
Four days before the trip, usually on Wednesday, an official update will be sent to all participants confirming whether the excursion will take place.
