Two-day trip to Akamas - April 5&6

The Salonica View team is organizing a unique two-day excursion to Akamas. Come and discover together the magical world of Akamas on an excursion full of adventure, natural beauty, and relaxation.

Day 1: Saturday, April 5
In the morning we start from Nicosia (Cyprus Handicraft Center) with stops for boarding in Kofinou and Limassol. Then we will make a stop for coffee and rest in Pissouri. Then, we will head to the impressive Farkona Gorge, which is often called "the king of Cypriot gorges". The hike, approximately 5 kilometers long and round trip, promises to reveal unique images. With narrow passages and its captivating beauty, the gorge offers a fascinating experience. Those who prefer not to participate in the hike can contact us so that we can arrange alternative relaxation activities at the local picnic area. Late in the afternoon, we will continue to Drousia, where we will check into our hotel. The rest of the time is free for rest and food.

The descent is difficult until we enter the canyon, the route is slippery and dangerous.

Farkonas Gorge
The Farkonas Gorge is one of the most impressive natural landscapes in Cyprus. It is located on the western side of the island and is characterized by narrow passages, immense cliffs, and imposing geomorphology. Although it does not have a permanent water flow, its wild beauty attracts nature lovers and hikers. The gorge is small and inside there are places that require special attention, such as steep slopes and small rocks.

Day 2: Sunday, April 6
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will check out of our rooms and set off for a day full of exploration. We will head to the village of Miliou by bus. From there we will begin our hike on the Anerades circular trail that starts and ends in the village. During our hike, we will have the opportunity to see up close the rich flora with countless wildflowers, as well as the fauna of the Cypriot countryside. After our hike, we will return to our bus and follow the Simos - Lhasa route. We will make a short stop for photos at the Evretos dam. Then we will go for lunch in the village of Kannaviou. After our lunch through the village of the Virgin Mary, we will descend to take the return route via the main highway. Our excursion will conclude with the return to Nicosia full of wonderful memories and experiences that will remain unforgettable.

Note 1. When you click to make a reservation, state in the message where you will pick up the bus and the room you choose (single or double).

Note 2. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the escorts.

Note 3. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on a specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event will be permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by participants 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.

Note 4. Photographic material is shared on our website and social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to share photos. If not, please let us know.

Note 5. Guides have the right to adjust the tour stops and the program according to the time available, without omitting important points of interest.

Note 6. Cancellation policy: in case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the event or your failure to show up for the activity/excursion, you will be required to cover the full cost of your participation. This policy applies to the coverage of operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
