For a while, we will walk next to the stream, and then we will go uphill toward the village. Along the way, we will encounter towering centuries-old trees and a wetland that will enchant you. When we reach Hortiatis village we will have free time for coffee and food.

Track features:

a) Degree of difficulty: Level 1 - Easy

b) Hiking duration: 2-2.5 hours

c) Distance: 6 km.

Points of interest:

Chortiatis:

Hortiatis is a town of Thessaloniki. During the Macedonian struggle, the Hortiatines fought with the most important Macedonian fighter, the chieftain Georgios Alexopoulos. In Hortiatis, the Hortiatis Holocaust took place during the Occupation, on September 2, 1944, by the German occupiers.

Plataniakia - Panorama:

Plataniakia in Panorama is a point where nature reveals its greatness. The beautiful Panorama is a very recent settlement. It wasn't until 1914 that refugees from Asia Minor settled in the area. His first name was Arsakli. In World War I, the Allies installed a makeshift hospital there. In 1922, refugees mainly from Trebizond and Argyroupoli took root in the settlement. After the war, Arsakli initially became a holiday resort, it changed its name, grew, and became the richest (and most opulent) suburb of Thessaloniki. Despite all its anarchic structure, it is indeed its most beautiful suburb. In the ravine that passes through Platanakia, there used to be well-known mill sites with several water mills. Some date back to the Byzantine era. Because the slopes of the ground were great, the same watercourse fed up to three mills in a row.
