The alternative tourism agency Salonica View organizes a one-day excursion and hiking tour to one of the most beautiful gorges in Greece, the Stravopotamos Gorge and a visit to the Goumenissa Winery.
A few words about our excursion:
We will start early by bus from Thessaloniki and after about two hours we will arrive at Mount Paiko. The mountain guide and leader of the excursion will talk to us about the route that the group will follow. Then we will start our journey and walk the path that leads to the Stravopotamos Gorge. The route is excellent and worth it as it is surrounded by lush vegetation and crosses a river throughout the route with wooden bridges. Then we will visit Goumenissa where we will have free time for lunch. Then, as part of the "Open Doors 2024" events, we will visit the Hatzivaritis winery where we will have the opportunity to taste the estate's wines accompanied by local delicacies (pies, cheeses, breadsticks), as well as a tour of the vineyard, the wine production and aging areas. After a beautiful day full of hiking and wine, we will take the road back to our beautiful Thessaloniki.
Stravopotamos Gorge:
In a beautiful forest, a path has been created that follows the flow of a river, the Stravopotamos. This river originates from the village of Megala Livadia and is a tributary of the Axios. The path starts from the Primatario observatory, which is located 5 kilometers after the village of Kastaneri towards Megala Livadia. From the beginning of the trail, the hike moves under towering chestnut and beech trees.
We will encounter a total of 8 wooden bridges with their names inspired by the Muses of ancient Greek mythology. According to mythology, the Muses were daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, lived in the Pierian Mountains and were dedicated to the Fine Arts.

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will receive a refund. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event will be permanently canceled and everyone will receive a refund.

Note 4. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the guides.
Note 5. Cancellation policy: in case of cancellation less than 72 hours before the event or your failure to appear at the activity/excursion, you will be required to cover the full cost of your participation. This policy applies to the coverage of operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
Note 6. The guides have the right to adjust the stops of the excursion and the program depending on the time available, without omitting important points of interest.
