Hiking in Olympus, Enipeas - Prionia - Cave and Old Monastery of Saint Dionysios

The alternative tourism agency Salonica View organizes a one-day excursion and hiking to Olympus, Enipeas Gorge - Prionia-Spilaio and the Old Monastery of Saint Dionysios.

A few words about our excursion:

We will start by bus from Thessaloniki. Specifically, we will start from Eastern Thessaloniki from Voulgari outside Everest. The second stop will be at the statue of Venizelos in Aristotelous Square and the third stop from Western Thessaloniki and One Salonica. From there, after two hours, we will reach Prionia where we will drink our coffee at the shelter. Then we will begin our beautiful route to the cave with the holy water of Saint Dionysios. On our way, we will pass by platforms where those who wish can also dive, as well as beautiful wooden bridges. Afterward, we will visit the Old Monastery of Saint Dionysios. Before leaving for Thessaloniki, there will be time for lunch and rest either in Litochoro or in Prionia (refuge).

Points of interest:

Enipeas Gorge: impressive steep slopes, dense vegetation, picturesque wooden bridges, lakes with crystal clear waters and small waterfalls make up a wonderful natural environment, which enchants lovers of mountain routes.

The Holy Cave where Saint Dionysios practiced asceticism: a cave under a rock, which is about 20 minutes walk from the old monastery. The place was named "Holy Cave" and is preserved to this day, attracting thousands of visitors daily.

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.
