The office of outdoor activities and sports tourism Salonica View organizes a day trip and hiking from Thessaloniki to on Mount Lailias (Vrontos Mountains).
A few words about Mount Lailias (Vrontos Mountains):
The Vrontos Mountains are located a few kilometers north of the city of Serres. They are knowns for their dense beautiful forests, steep ravines, small rivers, mountain swamps and glades, a variety of habitats that alternate in a unique way. Historically, the mountain is referred to by the locals as Lailias, a name that apparently comes from the corruption of the mountain saint Profitis Ilias (Ailias), while two other interpretations are that it comes from the Turkish word "Yailas" which means small settlement-resort or from the also Turkish Leila.

08:00 - Departure by bus from Thessaloniki (Statue of Venizelos - Aristotelous Square)
10:00 - Arrival at Lailias Ski Center
10:15 - Start of hiking
11:15 - Stop for rest at the shelter of Lailias
11:40 - Arrival at Mount Lailias
13:30 - Return and arrival at the ski center Lailias
13:45 - Departure for lunch in old Elatoxwri
14:00 - Arrival in old Elatoxwri for lunch
15:30 - Departure for return to Thessaloniki
17:00 - Arrival in Thessaloniki

Note 1. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the escorts.
Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the trip is postponed to another date. Participants who are unable to attend on this date will receive a refund. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and a refund is given to everyone. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is non-refundable.
