The Salonica View alternative tourism office organizes a hike in Livadi - Kalogeriko in Thessaloniki.
A few words about the trip:
Our meeting (bus not included) will be in the square of the mountain village, Livadi, where we will start our beautiful hike. At first, we will move along the village streets, until we enter the forest road. From there we will reach a point where we will cross a country road, to now enter our path in the beautiful nature! We will start climbing up to the characteristic col! From there we will start our last ascent until we reach the top of Kalogerikos at 970 m., where the view is truly magnificent! After enjoying the beauty of the bay of Thermaikos and the surrounding mountain peaks, we will start our descent following the same route back, enjoying the beauties of nature. After our hike is completed, we will have free time for food and coffee in Livadi.
The route we will follow is relatively passable and requires moderate physical condition. In addition, it is also suitable for children.
The Salonica View tourist office bears no responsibility for the movement and transportation of the participants by car.

• Trail difficulty level: 1+ (scale 1 – 5, moderate fitness)

Meadow:
Livadi is a mountain village with a special natural beauty that is built on Mount Ombrianos at an altitude of 800 meters at a distance of 40-45 km from Thessaloniki. It was founded at the end of the 15th century and was one of the villages that belonged to the waqf of Ishak Pasa, who in 1484 built-in Thessaloniki the Alatza Imaret (a colorful almshouse) and other religious and charitable institutions.
From its privileged position, it offers a unique view towards the valley of Anthemounda and the horseshoe of the Thermaikos Gulf as well as Mount Olympus! The centenary plane tree dominates the central square of the village, while the stone church of Agios Athanasios, built in 1818, is also important.

Note 1. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
