The Salonica View team is organizing a one-day adventure trip to the impressive Krasta Gorge.
A few words about our trip:
About 1:30 hours from Thessaloniki, near the forest and agricultural areas of the communities of Giannakochori, Rodochori, and Marina in the prefecture of Imathia, flows the Mega Rema river, where we encounter the Krasta Gorge.
Our hike will start from the village of Giannakochori and specifically from the village square at approximately 10:30 a.m., crossing a gravel road for about 15 minutes we will reach the starting point of the hike with the final destination being the waterfall where we will also have time for diving.
Our hike will be unique and extremely enjoyable as we will need to wade through the water up to our knees 10 times and through the water up to our waists 2 times. So what is certain is that it will be a cool and pleasant hike of about 2 hours until we reach the waterfall. And our adventure becomes even more enjoyable at the point where we will climb a rope of about three meters during our journey to the waterfall! There will be time for diving, taking photos, and enjoying nature under the cool waters of the waterfall. We will definitely need to have a second set of clothes and shoes with us so that we can change at the end.
The route through the gorge to the waterfall is easy without major elevation changes and has a total duration of about 5 hours (back and forth).
The hike is considered relatively easy and is suitable for everyone, including children over 10 years old, always accompanied by a guardian.
We will then visit the winery of Kostas Kelesidis, where he produces wine and spirits from organically grown vineyards. Mr. Kostas will welcome us and will guide us through his winery, where 6 labels of red and white wine as well as tsipouro are produced. At the end of the tour, and after we have the opportunity to taste, those who wish can also buy products from the winery.
