It is covered by dense vegetation mainly of deciduous trees such as oak and broadleaf. A large part of the mountain has been included in the Natura 2000 network. The mountain has been known since ancient times for its timber, which was sought after by shipbuilders. The mountain has many mushrooms, aromatic plants, and herbs, while its fauna is also rich with many species of wild animals and birds.

Arnea town:

Historical place and traditional settlement, which is built at the foot of Holomonts, at an altitude of 600 m. In the settlement, there are beautiful traditional houses. and buildings that remain intact to this day and are excellent examples of Macedonian traditional architecture. Arnaia has many narrow cobbled streets which are a reference point for this small town. On the walk you can take, you will see the Mansion of Arnaia, where today the Historical and Folklore Museum is housed, as well as the old school built in 1872 next to the church of Agios Stefanos.
