Hiking in the Enipea Gorge

The Salonica View alternative tourism office organizes a one-day excursion and hike to one of the most beautiful gorges in Greece, the Enipea Gorge.

A few words about our excursion:

We will start early by bus from Thessaloniki. Specifically, we will start from Eastern Thessaloniki from Voulgari outside Everest. The second stop will be at the statue of Venizelos in Aristotelous Square and the third stop from West Thessaloniki and One Salonica. From there, after two hours, we will reach the Monastery of Agios Dionysios. At this point, the mountain guide and leader of the expedition will talk to us about the route the group will follow. Next, we will start our journey from the Monastery of Agios Dionysios and descend until we reach Litochoro where the team bus will be. But before boarding and departure for Thessaloniki, there will be time for food and rest.

Points of interest:

Enipea Gorge: impressive steep slopes, dense vegetation, picturesque wooden bridges, ponds with crystal clear waters and small waterfalls make up a wonderful natural environment, which enchants lovers of mountain routes.

The Holy Cave where Saint Dionysios asceticized: a cave under a rock, which is about a 20-minute walk from the old monastery. The place was named "Holy Cave" and it is preserved to this day, attracting thousands of visitors every day.

3. Second shirt, socks, one small towel (change)

11. Camera (optional)

Note 1. When you click to book, declare in the message where you will take the bus from. The options are Voulgari (Everest), Aristotelous (Statue of Venizelos) or One Salonica. E.g. Statue of Venizelos

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants who are unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently cancelled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the event date, the money is not returned.
