The Salonica View team organizes a one-day excursion with a hike in the Cedar Forest in Giannakochori Naoussa and a visit to an organic winery.
A few words about our trip:
At a distance of about 100 km. from Thessaloniki is the village of Giannakochori Naoussa. After arriving at the village square we will walk 800 meters outside the village to begin our healing, beautiful and easy hike through the Cedar Forest. The Cedar Forest has an area of about 200 hectares, has over a thousand cedar trees 60 to 70 years old and consists of 6 "states", of which we will visit 4. Our total hike will be about 3 kilometers of easy healing route, because the Cedars, as we were informed, inhale and exhale curing people's headaches, relaxing tensions and nerves, walking between them more than 25 minutes.They are also protectors of the other trees around!
After completing our hike and feeling the healing properties of the cedars, we will visit the village library dedicated to the poet Ilias Czechos. And the treatment of body and soul continues at the library of Giannakochori! There we will have the honour of being guided by Mr. Ilias himself, where he will also read his poems accompanied by a hot linden tea from Giannakochori.
Our treatment continues with wine and a visit to the winery of Kostas Kelesidis, where he produces wine and spirits from organically grown vines. Mr. Kostas will welcome us and show us around his winery where 6 labels of red and white wine as well as tsipouro are produced. At the end of the tour and since we will have the possibility of a taste test, those who wish can also buy products from the winery!
Return again to Giannakochori square where we will have free time for food and/or coffee before our departure back to Thessaloniki.

Note 1. When you click to book, state in the message where you will take the bus from. The options are Voulgari (Everest), Aristotelous (Statue of Venizelos) or One Salonica. E.g. Statue of Venizelos
Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently cancelled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
Note 3. Photographic material is shared on our page and social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you also accept the sharing of photos. Otherwise, please let us know.
