The Salonica View Office of Outdoor Activities and Sports Tourism organizes Hiking and Climbing Introduction to Sheikh Sou.
A few words about Sheikh Su:
Sheikh Sou is a suburban forest of Thessaloniki, also called Kerdinos Hill that extends on the southern and southwestern slopes of Chortiatis up to the road Eptapyrgiou - Asvestochori. It is the lung of the city and a place of recreation for its inhabitants. The name "Sheikh Sou" translates as "Sheikh's water" and came from the fountain that existed in a Muslim funeral monument, the ruin of which still exists at the site of a Thousand Trees (as was the first name of the original forest core since its time Ottoman rule).
A few words about our route:
Sheikh Sou Forest is a stone's throw away from the city center. However, the beauties it hides are many and impressive! The starting point of our hike will be from the terminal 17. The course we will follow will be circular. Our route follows beautiful paths and forest roads, goes up and down wooden steps, and explores unknown passages in the lush forest! At the top, we will have the opportunity to see the panoramic view of Thessaloniki, Thermaikos and Olympus. During our route, the participants will make an introduction to climbing and will have the opportunity to try climbing Sheikh Sou and Filiro.
