The office of outdoor activities and sports tourism Salonica View organizes a one-day excursion and ascent from Thessaloniki to Mikri in the Prefecture of Pella.
A few words about Jenna:
The mountain range of Jenna is divided between the prefecture of Pella and Skopje with its main ridge being the border. To the west, it joins Pinovo while to the south it is very close to Paiko. Together with the North, they create a mountain range that encloses the plain of Almopia. The highest peak is the great Jenna at 2180m. Other peaks are Dokari (2110m), Mala Roupa (2003m), and little Jenna (2067m). Jenna, in Slavic Kozuf, is one of the most beautiful and relatively unknown mountains of Northern Greece. The name Jenna derives from the Vlach and Slavic root "jean" which means "eyebrow".
Points of interest:
The rocks that prevail in Little Jenna are limestone, slate, and flysch. Jenna is distinguished by its intense relief that includes many streams, gorges, waterfalls, large gorges, steep peaks, but also a huge subalpine zone. The mountain is famous for the gorge of Little Jenna, or the gorge of the South, which passes one of the most beautiful mountain paths in our country. Also on the mountain, there is one of the densest and most beautiful beech forests. In the lowlands, there are mixed forests of oaks and various deciduous, while in the alps there are large areas of grasslands. Other mountain trees are maples, sycamores, chestnuts, wild cypresses, elms, dogwoods, poplars, rowans, and willows.
