The Salonica View team is organizing a one-day excursion and walk to the Cherry Blossoms of Pella. It will be followed by a Gastronomic Festival with local products and music.
A few words about our excursion:
The Regional Unit of Pella (Tourism Department), for the 2nd consecutive year, focusing on the cherry blossoms in the wider area of mountainous Edessa, invites us to an action of health, recreation, and enjoyment of nature.
Starting from the chapel of Saint George in Vryta, Municipality of Edessa, our beautiful walk to the cherry blossoms will begin.
The route we will take is a total of 7.5 kilometers, along the Lake and to the sources of the Edessa River. An area where swans breed and a large number of endemic and migratory birds nest.
In contact with the blooming cherry trees, we will enjoy the beauty of the blooming nature.
The route is of "zero difficulty", as there are no uphill or difficult spots, the road is wide and in relatively good road condition for hiking and cycling. After the end of the hike, the elite chefs of SAVT Edessa will welcome us with a gastronomic feast in a suitably designed space in the chapel of Saint George. We will have the pleasure of watching them cook local recipes that will impress the most demanding gourmets, based on local products of the region.
The event will be accompanied by a photography exhibition by the Edessa Artists Association "Apellis" on the theme of cherry blossoms and by dance groups from cultural clubs in the wider area.
The cherry blossoms of Japan are world-famous and offer mental relief as they are connected to the country's traditions. However, the cherry blossoms of Edessa also offer an equally unique experience and mental peace. In fact, the Embassy of Japan in Greece will attend the event.
