Bathing in the cool waters of the emerald lake Skra

The Salonica View team is organizing a one-day excursion to swim in the cool waters of the emerald lake Skra

A few words about our excursion:

We will start from Thessaloniki with the destination of the blue lake Skra, located on the NE slopes of Mount Paiko, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters and just 4 kilometers from the historic village of Skra, in the Municipality of Paionia. The lake is four meters deep and the waterfalls that form there are fed by a network of streams that "give birth" to Mount Paiko. It has taken its name from the fossilized organisms found at its bottom.

We will reach the beginning of the trail and begin our short hike in a lush green environment with running water and images taken from a fairy tale. There lies the hidden blue lake, where we will swim in its cold emerald waters enjoying nature and the coolness in the heart of August. Then we will drive a little further and admire the adjacent waterfalls and their small caves.

The scenery alone inspires awe in the visitor, who stands wondering if this is a magical image or not, while the most romantic and those who like fairy tales, look to find the fairies that may be hidden there.

Then we will have free time for coffee and food in the square of historic Goumenissa before our departure for Thessaloniki. The excursion is aimed at all nature lovers, young and old.

Note 1. When you click to make a reservation, to state in the message where you will take the bus from. The options are Voulgari (Everest), Aristotelous (Venizelos Statue) or One Salonica. e.g. Venizelos Statue

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.
