Salonica View Travel Agency is organising a one-day excursion and hike at the impressive Avakas Gorge.
A few words about Avakas Gorge
Avakas Gorge is considered one of the most beautiful destinations for hikers and nature lovers and, for many, it is the jewel of the Akamas Peninsula.
Its impressive limestone cliffs, reaching up to 30 metres high, the wildlife along the trail and the Avgas River running through the gorge create a truly unique natural landscape.
Points of Interest
The Avakas Gorge trail is located within the Peyia Forest. The route follows the Avgas River, from which the gorge takes its name.
The trail begins along a dirt road through an open valley and then continues into the gorge. The final section follows the stream, where water usually flows throughout the year. Inside the gorge, hikers can enjoy dense vegetation and a beautiful, shaded and humid environment.
The gorge is also part of the NATURA 2000 network.
After completing our hike, we will visit Agios Georgios in Peyia, where we will have free time for lunch, coffee and relaxation.

Important Information
Note 1: When making your reservation, please indicate the location from which you will board the bus.
Note 2: For the smooth running of the event and for safety reasons, all participants must follow the instructions of the group leaders.
Note 3: In case the event is cancelled due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be rescheduled. Participants who cannot attend on the new date will receive a refund. If weather conditions do not allow the event to take place on the rescheduled date, the event will be permanently cancelled and all participants will receive a refund.
Note 4: Photos from our events may be shared on our website and social media. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to the publication of photographs. If you do not wish to appear in photos, please inform us.
Note 5 – Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation less than 72 hours before the event or in case of a no-show, the full participation fee must be paid. This policy applies due to operational costs and reservations already made.
Note 6: The group leaders reserve the right to adjust the stops and programme according to the available time, without omitting important points of interest.

Important Information About All Our Events
Four days before the excursion, usually on Wednesday, all participants will receive an official update confirming whether the excursion will take place.

- Weather conditions
- Other organisational factors
