The Salonica View Travel Office organizes a day trip featuring a visit to the Trimiklini Double Bridge, a wine tasting experience in Platres, and a pilgrimage to Trooditissa Monastery.
About our day trip
We will depart by bus from Nicosia and the Cyprus Handicraft Centre, with intermediate pick-up stops in Kofinou and Limassol.
Our route will take us via the motorway to the Trimiklini Double Bridge. We will stop to visit this unique landmark the only double bridge in Cyprus consisting of two separate constructions dating back to different historical periods. We will then proceed to Platres for a unique wine tasting experience, where we will sample selected Cypriot wines. After the wine tasting, we will visit the Holy Trooditissa Monastery for pilgrimage. Next, we will continue to Troodos Square, where we will stop for coffee and free time to relax. The excursion will conclude with lunch at Chrysanthi Restaurant in Kakopetria, before returning to Nicosia, with drop-off stops first in Limassol and then in Kofinou.
Trimiklini Double Bridge
In Trimiklini village, Limassol district, stands a rare and remarkable architectural monument: the only double bridge in Cyprus. What makes it unique is that one bridge is built directly above the other, creating an impressive sight. The older bridge was constructed in 1901 to connect the two banks of the Kouris River, facilitating the passage of people and carts. Later, as transportation needs increased, a second bridge was built at a higher level above the first to accommodate more modern forms of movement.
Wine Tasting in Platres
Wine tasting in Platres is a unique experience that combines the sampling of fine Cypriot wines with the atmosphere of a beautiful mountain village. Participants will have the opportunity to taste wines produced from local vineyards and learn about their history and production methods from experienced professionals.
Trooditissa Monastery
Trooditissa Monastery is a peaceful and spiritual retreat located on the southern slopes of the Troodos mountain range, surrounded by tall pine trees and lush greenery. Dating back to the 13th century, it lies northwest of Platres village, hidden within a stunning natural landscape. It is the highest monastery in Cyprus, built at an altitude of 1,370 meters, near the island’s highest peak, Mount Olympus. The monastery houses the revered icon of the Virgin Mary, covered in silver, which originated from Asia Minor and is considered the protector of childless couples.

Note 1: When making your reservation, please specify in the message which package you choose.
Note 2: For the smooth operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the tour escorts.
Note 3: In case of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, the excursion will be rescheduled to a new date. Participants who cannot attend the new date will receive a refund. If weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the excursion will be permanently canceled and a full refund will be issued.
Note 4: Photographic material from each event is shared on our website and social media channels. Participation in a Salonica View event implies consent to photo sharing. If you do not wish to appear in photos, please inform us in advance.
Note 5: Cancellation policy: In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the event or no-show, the full participation fee must be covered. This policy applies to cover operational costs and confirmed reservations.
Note 6: Escorts reserve the right to adjust stops and the program depending on time availability, without omitting key points of interest.

Four days before the excursion, usually on Wednesday, an official update will be sent to all participants confirming whether the excursion will take place.

- weather conditions,
- and other organizational factors.
