The Salonica View team is organizing a River Trekking activity in Cyprus for the first time. A fun and adventurous river crossing along with swimming in the impressive Maroullena Gorge.
Activity description
We will start from Nicosia (Cypriot Handicrafts Center) with the destination Farangi. We will all go together to the entrance of the canyon, where the hiking guide will inform us about how our group will move and will give us some information about the route. Our crossing will be through the river so our route will be cool and in the shade. In some places, we will have the feeling that we are in the jungle. At the end of the route, we will reach a natural pool to enjoy our swim. We will return by the same route. We will change into our wet clothes and shoes and board our bus. Our next stop will be in the village of Gourri, where we will have time for a rest, food, and coffee before returning back to Nicosia.
A few words about the Gorge
The Maroulena Gorge is located very close to the village of Kalo Chorio Orinis. The creation of the gorge comes from the union of two rivers Farmakas and Marunella. The geological importance of the Gorge is great since the visitor can see and admire huge boulders from the earth's crust.

- Two pairs of hiking shoes (one pair will get wet)

- Waterproof mobile phone case (if you will take the phone with you)
Note 1. For the best functioning of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the attendants.
Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
