The Salonica View team is organizing a unique one-day excursion that combines nature, tradition, pilgrimage, and wine tasting.
A few words about our excursion:
We will start at the Cyprus Handicraft Center in Nicosia and head to the beautiful Troodos Mountains. Our first stop will be for coffee in Troodos, where we will enjoy the magnificent view of the area. Then, we will head to the Troodos Geopark. There, we will have the opportunity for a guided tour and a video screening about the Troodos Global Geopark, which explains how the mineral wealth of Troodos was formed and emerged from the depths of the ocean. Then, we will visit Platres for a unique wine-tasting experience, tasting fine Cypriot wines. After the wine tasting, we will head to the Holy Monastery of Kykkos, where we will have time for a pilgrimage and a visit to the Monastery museum. The excursion will conclude with a buffet lunch in Kykkos.
Wine tasting in Platres:
Wine tasting in Platres is a unique experience that combines the tasting of fine Cypriot wines with the atmosphere of a beautiful mountain village. You will have the opportunity to taste wine varieties produced by local vineyards while you learn about their history and production methods from experienced oenologists.
Kykkos Monastery:
The Kykkos Monastery is located in the mountainous area of the Marathasa Valley and is the richest Monastery on the island. It is located on the top of the mountain at an altitude of 1,318 meters. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Monastery has one of the three icons attributed to the Apostle and Evangelist Luke. The icon is covered with silver and kept in a case made of tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl and is placed in front of the iconostasis. The Monastery burned down several times, and nothing remains of its original building. Religious festivals are held on September 8 (Nativity of the Virgin Mary) and August 15 (Assumption of the Virgin Mary). There is also a museum on the grounds of the Monastery.

Package 2: 40 euros/person (transport, wine tasting, organization, entrance to the Geopark, escor,t and buffet meal)

Note 2. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the escorts.
Note 3. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event will be permanently canceled, and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.
Note 4. Photographic material is shared on our page and on social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to the sharing of photos. Otherwise, please inform us.
Note 5. Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the event or a no-show, you will be required to cover the full cost of your participation. This policy applies to cover operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
