From there we will take the main highway that leads to the free areas.
A few words about Kantara Castle:
Kantara Castle is located in Pentadachtylos, on the occupied side of Cyprus. It was built in the 11th century by the Byzantines and destroyed by the Venetians in the 16th century. Kantara Castle is believed to have taken its name from the Arabic word "Kandar" which means steep rock and this is due to the location where the castle is located. According to popular tradition, the castle was built by a beautiful but very evil woman! Regina. So, she tortured the workers who, after the construction of the castle was completed, ordered her soldiers to throw them off the cliff so that they would not reveal the secrets of the castle. Kantara Castle is the third of the important castles of the Pentadachtylos mountain range.
