Hiking: Saint Nikolaos - Karkotis - Chantares Chromium Mines - December 07

As part of the Christmas events of Kakopetria, Salonica View is organizing a wonderful hike to the winter Saint Nikolaos and the Chromium Mines, a route full of natural beauty.

A few words about our route:

Our excursion will start from Nicosia and the Cyprus Handicraft Center, where we will board the bus towards the starting point of the hike, near Saint Nikolaos of Stegi. The path is a circular route of 8.5 km. Initially we walk on a forest path of 1 km. next to the Karkotis River and then we follow a magical passage along the river, with small crossings that make the experience even more lively. Arriving in the Chantares area, we explore the old chrome galleries and the remains of the old mine, before continuing towards the historic water plant of Saint Nikolaos. The route returns to the starting point, while throughout the entire duration the guide shares stories and information about the area, giving a unique dimension to each of our steps.

Important note:
The route is not recommended for people with a fear of heights, as it includes points with altitude changes.

Note 1. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the guides.

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event will be permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded.

Note 3. Photographic material is shared on our page and social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to the sharing of photos. Otherwise, please let us know.

Note 4. Policy Cancellation: In case of cancellation less than 72 hours before the event or no-show, you will be required to cover the full cost of your participation. This policy applies to cover operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
