The office of outdoor activities and sports tourism Salonica View organizes hiking on the nature trail Kannoures - Agios Nikolaos of Stegi in Kakopetria.
A few words about the path:
The starting point is at the main road Karvouna - Troodos Square and ends at the church of Ag. Nikolaou of Stegi. During the route, we will pass by the source of the river Karkotis. Then we will reach the abandoned chrome mine and at the end, we will end up in the 12th-century church of Agios Nikolaos of Stegi. The path due to the route is level 3, with difficult terrain morphological characteristics, such as particularly steep elevation differences - uphill and/or downhill.
A few words about the church of Agios Nikolaos of Stegi:
It is a 12th-century church, near Kakopetria. The church is the only surviving mid-Byzantine catholic in Cyprus. It is considered to have flourished during the mid-Byzantine period and the first years of the Frankish occupation and then continued to function as a parish or pilgrimage church. The church is one of the nine frescoed churches in Troodos, which have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1985. The architecture of St. Nicholas of Stegi is cruciform with a dome and takes its name from the second flat wooden roof. The interior walls of the church are decorated with a series of frescoes.

Note 1. When you click to make a reservation, state in the message the package you choose. In case you choose one of the packages without transfer, you should have a second vehicle at the finish point, as the path is linear.
Note 2. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the escorts.
Note 3. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the trip is postponed to another date. Participants who are unable to attend on this date will receive a refund. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and a refund is given to everyone. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is non-refundable.
