The office of alternative and sports tourism Salonica View organizes a one-day hiking trip on the path "The streams of the Eagles" in Amiantos (Troodos) and to enjoy fresh trout in a wonderful tavern in Kakopetria.
A few words about our trip:
Our excursion will start from Nicosia and specifically from the handicraft center. Together with the experienced leader-companion of our office, we will start our adventure on the path "The lumata of Eagles" at the connection point of the main road of Kato Amiantos - Camp SEK. Our route passes near the Almyrolivados excursion site. The path we will cross has a beautiful slope and follows a course along the river, through rich vegetation, and ends at Amianto Park. It passes by the old restored hideout of the EOKA Fighters and the River Loumatas of the Eagles. At the end of our hike, we will board the bus and go to Platanias. From there we will walk (1400m come on) and visit a trout fish farm. We will have the opportunity and time to buy fresh trout. In the end, we will return back to our bus and go to a wonderful tavern in Kakopetria where we will enjoy fresh trout from the hands of Mr. Haris.

A few words about the village of Amiantos:
Amiantos is a village in the province of Limassol and is located just a few kilometers before Troodos peak. It is a picturesque village surrounded by greenery, which is crossed by the Kourris river. According to tradition, Amiantos owes its name to the mining of asbestos that took place in the mines of the village.
"Waters of the Eagles"
At the beginning of the route, there is a nice view towards the area of Kyperounda and the Asbestos Mine, while approximately in the middle of the route you will find the restored hideout of the 1955-59 EOKA fighters. It is worth mentioning that most of the path used to be the route followed by the workers of the Amiantos mine to the surrounding villages.

Note 1. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
