Hiking on the Kakokephalos - Mantra of Meadow trail

The Salonica View team organizes a one-day hiking trip on the Kakokefalos - Mantra tou Meadow trail.

A few words about our excursion:

Our excursion will start from Nicosia, specifically from the Cyprus Handicrafts Center. Together with the experienced leader-companion of our group, we will start our adventure on the Kakokefalos - Mantra tou Meadow path from the Machira road to Kionia, about 1km before the Kionia picnic area. The route we will follow passes through lush vegetation as well as next to the ruins of an old mantra from which the Mantra tou Meadow excursion site probably got its name. We will have the opportunity through our hike to enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding area and the plain of Mesaoria. The route ends at the excursion site Mantra of Meadow, where we will have time for a picnic and rest.

Characteristics of the hiking route:

Starting point: Machira road to Kionia, about 1km before the Kionia picnic area.

Length: 5.5 km

Time: 2.5 - 3.5 hours

Type: Linear path

Degree of difficulty: 3 - High degree of difficulty trail due to a route with difficult terrain features, such as particularly steep elevation differences (uphill and/or downhill)

Cost of participation (per person):

20 euros (hiking, organization & transportation by bus)

The price includes:

You must have with you:

1. Good sneakers or hiking boots (if you have them)
2. Hiking pants or leggings
3. Second shirt, socks, one small towel (change)
4. Snack and Water
5. Backpack
6. Raincoat (required)
7. Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
8. Tissues
9. Trekking Pole (optional)
10. Camera (optional)
11. Your own food (picnic at picnic area)

Note 1. For the best functioning of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the attendants.

Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
