Hiking in the Chalefka forest and the Armenian monastery - April 13

The Salonica View team is organizing a hike in the Chalefka forest and the Armenian monastery.

A few words about our route:

In the morning, we will start from Nicosia and the Cyprus Handicraft Center and head towards the Saint Dometios checkpoint. After about 1 hour by bus, we will reach the starting point of our hike. Before the start of our hike, there will be a short stop for a break and rest. Our hike is about 10km long. The route is magica,l and we will pass through the dense forest of Chalefka with views both towards the northern coast of Kyrenia and towards the southern region of Kythrea. After the end of our hike, we will go for a picnic at the Chalefka picnic area in the forest.

Points of interest:

• The imposing Armenian monastery of Saint Makarios (Surp Magar)
• The medieval early Byzantine church (ruins), probably of Saint George
• Kyrenia Rock - one of the viewpoints of Pentadachtylos with its steep cliffs that truly take your breath away

Hiking characteristics:

1) Distance – 10 kilometers (approximately)

2) Duration – approximately 3-3.5 hours (depending on the stops at the points of interest)

3) Difficulty level – 2 (moderate)

20 euros/ person

Note 1. When you click to make a reservation, state in the message where you will pick up the bus.

Note 2. For the best operation of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the guides.

Note 3. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion will be transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event will be permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by participants 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.

Note 4. Photographic material is shared on our page and on social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to share photos. Otherwise, please inform us.

Note 5. Cancellation Policy: In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the event or a no-show, you will be required to cover the full cost of your participation. This policy applies to cover operating expenses and reservations that have already been made.
