The Salonica View team organizes a Hike on the Caledonia Nature Trail

A few words about the Caledonian trail:

Our starting point starts from the main road of Troodos Square towards Platres with a distance of 3 km. During our route, we will have the opportunity to breathe the pure oxygen that the trees offer us, to listen to the gurgling water that runs in the Caledonian waterfall, and to pass through a dense forest that reminds us of a landscape from a land of dreams. After the hike, there will be free time for rest, and food/coffee in Platres.

Chronology:

The history of the path begins in 1878 when the English colonialists arrived on our island for the first time. Then the Cypriot people welcomed them as liberators because they were enslaved for 370 years by the Ottoman Empire. The origin of the settlers was from an ancient Greek colony in Caledonia. The English colonists looked for a place to build their settlement in the mountains of the big island. The Kryos River was also in the area they found ideal. Then they created small lakes and large rivers where fish and crabs lived. The area was named Caledonia after the Caledonian waterfall. When the settlers were forced to leave the forest section, he beautified the ancient path that led from the top of Troodos to Platres, thus turning it into a nature trail.

The price includes:

9. Trekking Pole (optional)
10. Camera (optional)

Note 2. For the best functioning of the event and for safety reasons, participants must comply with the instructions of the attendants.

Note 3. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is moved to another date. Participants unable to participate on that date will be refunded. However, if again the weather conditions do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone is refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the date of the event, the money is not returned.
