The Salonica View team organizes a 4-day excursion to Tzoumerka in Ioannina. Live the ultimate experience of rafting, hiking, and other beautiful activities in one of the most beautiful places in Greece.
1st day, Larnaca - Thessaloniki - Metsovo - Tzoumerka
Departure from Larnaca by air at 7:00 in the morning for Thessaloniki. From there we will board the bus and take Egnatia Odos towards Ioannina. We will stop for traditional food in the wonderful Metsovo. Then, after boarding the bus again, we will depart for our final destination, the Etheres Hotel https://www.etherestzoumerkon.gr/ in the village of Katarraktis in Tzoumerka. After settling in the hotel and resting we will have free time.
2nd day, Rafting on the Arachthos River
After having our breakfast at the hotel and filling up with energy, it's time for action! We will board small buses which will take us to the bridge of Politsa. From there, after some small training, the adventure begins with Rafting in one of the most beautiful canyons in Greece. At the end of our activity, we will go to a local tavern for food. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel.
Rafting on Arachthos River
When Rafting in Arachthos we follow a relatively easy route of about 10 kilometers, which is suitable even for beginners. We encounter flow with continuous waves, strong turns and passages of 2nd - 3rd degree. We cross the most beautiful part of the river that starts from the Politsa Bridge in Ambelochori and ends at the famous Plaka Bridge. Around the middle of our route, we don't miss the opportunity to visit and take a dip in the natural lake formed by the 20-meter-high Klifki Waterfall. The entrance to the narrow Arachthos Gorge is imposing with vertical slopes 700 meters high. Along the entire route, we come across dozens of springs gushing from the rocks with crystal clear and drinkable water. At the exit of the Gorge, at the end of the route, we pass the largest single-arched bridge in the Balkans, the Plaka Bridge. No previous experience is required.
Day 3, Kipina Monastery and hiking to the Melissourgos Refuge - Kefalovryso Waterfall, Tzoumerka
We will have our breakfast at the hotel and we will start by bus to the Melissourgo mountain refuge. From there we will start our hike on a beautiful route through a forest with fir trees and after 20 minutes we come out to an opening where we have a view of the waterfall called Kefalovryso and the surrounding area. The waterfall has a total length of 350 meters. We begin to approach him by constantly making eye contact with him and after half an hour we reach his base. The return is alternatively made by another route through a fir forest on a very beautiful path. Bonus and the view of another waterfall south of the big one and soon we will reach the shelter of the Beekeepers on the other side. The route moves exclusively on a path with the exception of a small section of 300 meters where it moves on a dirt road. After the hike, we will have time to eat at the lodge. From there we will depart to visit one of the most important monasteries in the world, the Garden Monastery. It is a monastery that was "squeezed" into a few square rocks, with galleries and hidden caves, which was built in 1212 and is dedicated to the "Adoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary" and celebrates the Friday of Diakainisimo, the Life-giving spring. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel for rest.

4th day, Tzoumerka - Thessaloniki - Larnaca
Breakfast at the hotel and departure with our luggage for the nymph of Thermaikos, the beautiful Thessaloniki! Some time for a quick coffee and a walk around the city and departure by bus to Macedonia airport for the return flight at 21:00 pm. Full of experiences we will return to Larnaca late at night.
