The new holistic program of Salonica View
What is Adventure Therapy?
According to the Association of Experiential Education (AEE)
Adventure therapy is a mental health treatment that uses the natural environment to help people deal with and overcome cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional disorders. Gives priority to a therapeutic process in which goal setting, personal decision making, accountability, and achieving results are used to develop positive behaviors.
Simply put, to make the definition clearer, Adventure Therapy uses the greatness of nature to help people heal. Think about what it feels like to walk in nature, to climb a mountain peak, or how refreshed you feel after a bike ride by the sea or lake. Now think of all these feelings to be received by one who is having their own inner battle.
With the new program of Salonica View "Change your life with Adventure Therapy" the participant will have the opportunity to live experiences such as cycling, horseback riding, hiking, mountain running, and outdoor exercise. They will receive a diet plan and advice from the team nutritionist. Finally, together with our psychologist will be given the motivation and spark that the participant needs, to see all these activities as the mean that will change their life. According to Lise Brown, she founded Momenta, a women-only drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility based in the Colorado mountains, "When I do adventure therapy, I think of two things, I think about physical and emotional security and then how I can do these things outside whenever possible."
