The Salonica View team is organizing a one-day excursion and hiking tour on one of the most beautiful trails, the Muses - Stravopotamos trail in Paiko.
A few words about our excursion:
We will start early in the morning by bus from Thessaloniki. After two hours, we will arrive at Mount Paiko and specifically at the Pramatari location. At this point, the mountain guide and expedition leader will talk to us about the route that our group will follow. Then, we will start our journey and walk the Pramatari - Lyomeno Stravopotamos trail (recreation area). The route is excellent especially in spring with the lush green landscape and the river with the 8 beautiful wooden bridges, each named after a muse!
The hike is open to everyone, including our little hikers (from 8 years old) always accompanied by a guardian. At the end, we will stop at the recreation area where we can have a small picnic, so we can rest and chat, so come organized with chess, food, drinks, etc. Then we will stop in Goumenissa for coffee and/or food before we depart back to Thessaloniki!
Hiking characteristics in the Stravopotamos Gorge:
Distance: 4 kilometers (linear route)
Difficulty level: 1 - 2 (scale 1-5)

- Mountaineering boots
- Mountaineering pants or leggings (windproof)
- Second shirt, socks, a small towel (change of clothes)
- Snacks
- Water
- Backpack
- Waterproof jacket (necessary)
- Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
- Tissues
- Trekking Pole (optional)
- Camera (optional)
Note 1. When you click to book, state in the message where you will take the bus from. The options are Voulgari (Everest), Aristotelous (Venizelos Statue). E.g. Venizelos Statue
Note 2. In case of cancellation of the event due to bad weather conditions, the excursion is transferred to another date. Participants who cannot participate on the specific date will be refunded. However, if the weather conditions still do not allow the event to take place, the event is permanently canceled and everyone will be refunded. In case of cancellation by the participants, 7 days or less before the event date, the money will not be refunded.
Note 3. Photographic material is shared on our page and on social media after each event. By participating in a Salonica View event, you agree to the sharing of photos. Otherwise, please let us know.
